Finish Golf Shots Looking Sideways

Finish Golf Shots Looking Sideways

When you maintain your spine angle at the completion of your swing you will be looking at your ball flight from a sideways angle. This same spine angle is maintained in the back swing, at impact, and in the finish. Holding the spine angle into the finish is a good practice. It ensures that you have the correct spine angle throughout the golf swing.
Excess lateral and horizontal motions of your body will be reduced when you maintain your spine angle into the finish. Your swing will be more stable. Extra stability results in more consistent golf shots.
Maintaining your spine angle in the finish has other advantages. It encourages your torso to rotate perpendicular to your spine through impact. Perpendicular rotation around your spine keeps the club head moving along your intended target line, resulting in more consistent accurate golf shots. A stable spine angle will also increase distance. Studies show that the number one factor contributing to greater distance is solid center faced impact. Solid impact is a result of the face of the club pointing and the club traveling in the same direction.

Without accurate feedback it is difficult to assess your actual spine angle at the finish of your swing. Record your swing using a golf app installed on your phone or pad, you will be able to see if your spine angle has been maintained at the finish. I suggest that you download the app which I use: Ubersense. The Ubersense app will allow you to share your videos with me. I can take a look and send an analysis response back to you.

Your golf shots will be more consistent when you maintain your spine angle at the finish of your swing. You will end up looking at the world from a side view.
