Shoulder Lag for Powerful Golf Shots

Today I am going to talk about shoulder lag. Shoulder lag is easier to perform than wrist lag. Like a properly performed wrist lag, shoulder lag can help golfers produce powerful, accurate golf shots.

Easiest Increased Distance with Shoulder Lag

First a brief review of wrist lag and why it is difficult for the majority of golfers. Wrists can hinge or cock up and down and hinge back and forth, further complicating matters the forearms can also roll back and forth. Because there are so many possible angles and wrist positions, it takes a considerable amount of training and practice to perfect the wrist lag.

The shoulder lag is easy to perform and produces accurate, powerful golf shots. Here is a simple way to perform the shoulder lag. At the top of the backswing as you move into the downswing just make a little move toward the target with your left shoulder. This move toward the target with the left shoulder creates more of an angle (see video) and lag. Watch the final golf swing on the video and you will see the move toward the target is small. It is not a lunge toward the target. If you want to try a simple way to create lag, that will give you accurate and powerful golf shots, give the shoulder lag a try.
