Best Golf Pre Shot Routine

Establishing a golf pre shot routine which allows you to perform freely is essential to playing your best. Follow these steps for optimal golf performance.

  1. Take a mini practice swing to establish the feel of the swing you are about to make. This is the time where it is ok to reinforce the feel of the golf swing mechanics you have been working on.
  2. Stand behind the ball facing the target. Standing behind the ball while facing the target insures correct alignment.
  3. Relax your shoulders, arms and hands. Exhale slowly and relax.
  4. Finally put the swing on automatic. Hit the ball at the target. (Your focus is outward on the ball and the target not on swing mechanics.) Execute!

You can learn this technique and many others by attending a golf lesson or Palm Springs Golf School, Las Vegas Golf School, or Minnesota Golf School. PGA Master Instructor Dave Cahill and PGA Teaching Professional Michael Cahill are always available to help you play your best golf.
