Golf Backswing Tips
This video titled “Golf Backswing Tips?” includes helpful advice about golf on plane forward swing from PGA Master Golf Professional Dave Cahill from Cahill Golf Schools in Palm Springs and Las Vegas.
Golf Backswing Tips
A perfect golf backswing, or even a golf backswing close to perfection sets the stage for powerful repeatable golf shots.
When you are wildly out of position at the top it takes far too much time in the forward swing to strike the golf ball solidly in a consistent manner.
So, what does a good golf back swing look like?
In this video notice four primary positions
- Notice how the original spine angle, established at address, is maintained throughout the golf backswing.
- At the top, the angle of your right bicep matches the angle of your spine angle. Only the bottom 1/3 is separated from your side.
- Your left arm is in line with your shoulders and at the same angle as your shoulders.
- Finally your golf club shaft is pointing down the same line as both your shoulders and your arm. If the head of the club is by your head it is incorrect.
Using a video compare your swing to the models swing in regards to these 4 positions.
Golf consistency and power can be achieved more easily if the basic golf positions are in place during the backswing.
