Holding the Finish
Today we are going to talk a little bit about holding the finish. You’ve probably heard about players being told to pose in the finish and hold their finish position. So what is that all about and what should you be doing? Posing in the finish or holding the finish position has a lot to do with spine angle. At address the spine angle, the angle from the shoulders to the hips, should be maintained into the backswing. It should then be maintained all the way on the fore swing down to the ball and to the finish. Turn hips and shoulders rotate through maintaining the spine angle hold it into the finish. At the finish I am looking at the world sideways. Pose and hold that spine angle, which is the pose we want.
PGA Master Instructor Dave Cahill and PGA Instructor Mike Cahill are ready to help you learn how to hold the finish so that the spine angle is maintained throughout the shot. Maintaining the spine angle throughout the shot increases power and consistency.
